El osteosarcoma es un tumor maligno poco frecuente, que puede afectar a los maxilares, y que se presenta con mayor frecuencia en adultos jóvenes varones. Las manifestaciones clínicas más frecuentes son tumor y dolor. Los osteosarcomas de los maxilares aparecen, con mayor frecuencia, en el cuerpo de la mandíbula, el seno maxilar y el puente alveolar del maxilar superior
